Why did you choose to go to Krems an der Donau, Austria?

If I don't consider my exam grade, I can say these reasons: German speaking country, direct flights from my hometown, geographical position located in the middle (easy to escape to neighborhood countries)

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I got paid 500 EUR/month by my national agency to the end of Spring term (which makes more than 4 months). My dorm was for 325 EUR, and the amount I got was almost enough. Since there is nothing much to spend money.

What is the student lifestyle like in Krems an der Donau?

It is good but can be better. Don't expect a student life like in Poland or Netherlands. It's a small city and whatever you do, you do with your friends. Thanks to IMC International Welcome Center and ESN, there is always an event to join and meet people.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Krems an der Donau to other students?

Yes, if you would like to learn courses from different perspectives and rather than partying every night, you spend some quality time with students from all around the world. It's a beautiful city by the way.

What is the food like?

The local wine is great. Since I am not that much interested in meats and snitzel (which is famous Hee), I don't wanna comment on these.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Krems an der Donau?

I reserved my dorm and I paid deposit before I came here. The prices are almost same for every dorm.

How much does it cost to live in Krems an der Donau?

600 EUR per month is good enough to live in here.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

There are language courses provided by the university if you need. What I see is that many people can speak English less or more. And German is easy to learn if you speak English. That could be a chance to start learning a new language.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Krems an der Donau from your city?

After landing Vienna by plain, the easiest way is to take a train to Krems. Take a train from Vienna to Krems. And you'll need to change trains at St Pölten station. Don't forget to buy 'Vorteilscard' which makes it cheaper if you're younger than 26. With this discount card, it costs 9 EUR from Vienna to Krems.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Krems an der Donau?

I've just gone to Müllner so far. When I go out more I'll update this.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Krems an der Donau?

I've just went to a Turkish restaurant which is recommended by a regular student. When I experienced any other places I'll update this.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

There are amazing churches in here. And the city center is full of with old buildings. Steiner Tor, Piaristingasse are worth to see.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Krems an der Donau in the future?

Take a walk or run along to Danube River. Go hiking between grape yards. Travel to other countries during long holidays (Easter, Christmas, etc..). Enjoy your time here!
