What is it like to live in Komotini? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Yes, it's a modern town. It has road for cycling. It is not big and that is good because you can learn it easily. And the distances are very small. And you can visit it by feet or cycling or using taxi or bus. Also, you can have fun without spend to much money.

What is the student lifestyle like in Komotini?

Most of students are out in cafeteria, in coffee-bars, in the club or in bouzoukia. It has not many museums, monuments and sightseeings but you can visit easily and cheaply others cities such as Xanthi, Kavala, Drama, Thessaloniki, Alexandroupoli, Soufli, etc.

How much does it cost to live in Komotini?

For accommodation you need approximately 250 to 300 €. Extra money for food or entertainment approximately 150 - 200 €, because you can eat at the students' restaurant that it's free and only for students.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Komotini? Is there any advice you can give?

I don't think so. But most of the places you will find are small apartments or studio

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

It has goody's, pizzeria and places to eat especially Greek food such as taverns. I like the place « en kamino » which is in the central plaza and make delicious pizza and very good pasta and at the end souvlike because makes the best souvlaki.

What places would you recommend visiting in Komotini?

You can visit the monument « Sword » ( in greek Spathi), the mall « Kosmopolis » and some parks that has.

Is it good to eat out in Komotini? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yes, it has a lot of places with good food like En Kamino, Souvlike (souvlakia), Kapsouli, Kouzoulo ( with food from Crete), Masali, Roloi, Sultan Tepe, Snoopy, etc.

Is the nightlife good in Komotini? Where is good to go?

Of course, you can go in the clubs Omnia and Lobby, in the bars Avant, State, Rakadikon, and in the Ihodromio which is greek buzukia.

What advice would you give future students heading to Komotini?

That they can have a lot of fun. They can travel to another cities without spending much money. And in fact is a nice place to meet new people from different place, because it is a city especially for students.
