Why did you choose to go to Kingston Upon Hull, United Kingdom?

Hull was one of the places that my university was offering for going on an erasmus, and I had read good opinions about it.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

The scholarship lasts 9 months, and we receive 250€ per month to help with our expenses.

What is the student lifestyle like in Kingston Upon Hull?

I would say it really depends on the person, but in general student life is really active.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Kingston Upon Hull to other students?

I would recommend it if you are looking for a not very big city to live. The University is just amazing, it offers plenty of activities and it is really nice.

What is the food like?

For me, Spanish as I am, food has been the worst part. Restaurants and bars offer the exact same things, and that is mainly junk food.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Kingston Upon Hull?

Not at all, I found it trough Erasmusu.

How much does it cost to live in Kingston Upon Hull?

Around 500 pounds per month, including accomodattion, food, leisure activities, etc.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

The accent is really strong, and sometimes it's difficult to understand, but you just get used to it.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Kingston Upon Hull from your city?

The common way is plane from Madrid to Manchester, and train from Manchester to Hull. But, I have to say that,in my opinion, train is really expensive.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Kingston Upon Hull?

There are plenty of options, such as Asylum (the uni's disco), Piper, Tofts, Atik (in the city centre)...

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

The city centre has an art gallery, museum, the deep, the harbour..

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Kingston Upon Hull in the future?

Bring warm clothes.
