What is it like to live in Kalmar? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
It is very nice to live in Kalmar since it is very near to both nature and nightlife. It is also near to the beach and also to the shore. Kalmar contains a lot of restaurant and shopping malls and you do not have to be restless here if you do not want to.
Most of the city you can reach by bike, if not, there is a lot of buses that you can take to different places around.
One thing that often is appreciated, mostly at the summer, is that it just takes 30 minutes by bus from Kalmar central station to Oland where there is alot happening in the summers.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Kalmar? Is there any advice you can give?
From what I have heard is can be a little bit hard t find accommodation in the core of Kalmar, but if you start to search for accommodation in time, you should have no problem finding a place to stay for your visit. In worse case scenario you may have to live 30 minutes by bus from the core of Kalmar for a while.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
Since I have grown up here I am very used to the food and appreciate it. I have never heard anyone complain over the food and since the city contains a lot of different restaurants with different kind of food you should be able to find something that suits you.
What places would you recommend visiting in Kalmar?
I would recommend visiting Oland at the summers if you stay here.
Is it good to eat out in Kalmar? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
Yes it is good. most restaurants is good so you should just try different places and you will find a restaurant that suits you.
Is the nightlife good in Kalmar? Where is good to go?
In Kalmar the nightclubs are open on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. There is also a lot of different things happening that the school organises.
What advice would you give future students heading to Kalmar?
Start to look for accommodation in time and it will all work out.
