Why did you choose to go to Joensuu, Finlande?
Because of the high quality of education.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
5 months. Money which I received help me a lot (I paid for my flat and food), but of course it wasn`t enough.
What is the student lifestyle like in Joensuu?
A lot of parties (part of them is organised by the ESN) and opportunities to met new people came all around the world.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Joensuu to other students?
Of course! High quality of education, the best teachers: smart, kind, helpful and good equipments of university.
What is the food like?
A little strange at the beginning, but it`s quite good.
in the shops food is rather expensive.
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Joensuu?
No, it was unpaid.
How much does it cost to live in Joensuu?
It was rather expensive. It`s cost me 500-550 euros per month.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
Yes, at the university are course of Finnish language. Language is quite difficult, but if somebody wants learn Finnish- he will learn it.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Joensuu from your city?
Well, I don`t know. I think plane and trains.
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Joensuu?
At Noljakka area: it`s not far away from centre and near the lake- it`s amazing!
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Joensuu?
Buffet at the university (Carelia building).
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
Oh, I don`t remember names.
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Joensuu in the future?
If you can you should go to Joensuu: it`s worth to seeing it and being there!
