Cesme, the beach city!

So it was my last day in Izmir trip and I decided to gallivant to the outskirt of the city. My friend from Izmir suggested me to go to Cesme, which is fifty kilometers away from the city center. There is only one station in Izmir from where you will get Cesme by bus or transportation. The station is in Ikiztepe and the name is Ikiztepe bus station.

From Ikiztepe bus station I took the bus 725 which is probably the only bus which goes to Cesme. The bus will cost you around 5 dollars and the journey will take one hour and a half. You can rent a car from Izmir to Cesme if you have license.

Before going there I along with my other two friends reserved a cottage near to the bay area. It was a two rooms house with a kitchen. We reserved through booking.com and paid 20 dollars per night. You should reserve a place before going there if you want to stay the night otherwise it will be too expensive to find a place to stay.

The city is so beautiful and organized, and it looks very perfect for holidaymakers. You can rent a cycle to roam around the city since it is a small city.

The first place we have visited is Cesme Castle which is very old and it witnessed one of the biggest naval wars in the history. We took a dolmus (microbus which functions as local transportation). Dolmus costs around 1 dollar per person. We reached the castle and directly went to the top of it. When you go to the top of the castle, you will see the stunning and beautiful coastline as well as the sea. From the castle, you can capture good photos with the sea and the city.

From the Cesme Castle, we moved to the Ilica Sahil (Ilica beach). Ilica beach is the main attraction and tourist spot. We went to Cesme in April. So, we noticed less number of tourists there, but in the summer it is a very crowded place. We also went there by dolmus and it dropped us close to the beach area. From there, we walked for ten minutes to reach the beach. The following photos tell everything what I have experienced there.

The Ilica beach is very clear and calm. The water was crystal clear and was also picture-perfect for swimming. I could not resist myself from swimming. I took my swimming stuffs. So, I directly jumped to the sea with my other friends! Well, the water was a little cold but, who cares! We spent almost an hour in the sea. When I plunged into the water, I could see almost everything. I collected some multi-colored stones from the sea as remembrance of Cesme.

Cesme is very popular for bars and clubs. In the evening we went to the Babylon Beach Club. It's a good place to have a drink with music. Just imagine that you are having dinner in a place where waves from the sea sing for you!

The next day we came back to Izmir and from there we came back to Eskisehir.
