What is it like to live in Ioannina? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

I love this city, I live here the past 6 years and now that I have to go,it is so difficult for me.. It is a city full of green and beautiful building and ofcourse the lake Pamvotis.

What is the student lifestyle like in Ioannina?

In ioannina there are a lot of students so it is a city really "alive". There are so many things you can do, go dancing, drinking, playing bowling but also if you just go for a walk in this beautiful city you will have fun for sure!!

How much does it cost to live in Ioannina?

The truth is that considering the other Greek cities ioannina is a little bit expensive.. For example if you want to rent a flat near center you will have to pay 280-300 euros..the beer costs from 3-5 euros, depending the bar

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Ioannina? Is there any advice you can give?

It's non difficult but I would suggest to search for a place on your own.. Ioannina is non a big city, you can walk and see the advertisment and you can call and speak with the person that rents the flat!

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Oh the food is perfect!!!! I am in love with crepa.. It is a crepe with chicken, potatoes, cheese and whatever you want. For me it's the perfect meal

What places would you recommend visiting in Ioannina?

Definitely zagoroxoria.. It is a group of small villages in the mountain Zagori. It is about one hour away from the city but it definitely worth it!!

Is it good to eat out in Ioannina? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Well yes there is a street named Averwf and there are many places you can eat.. And all kind of different types of food.. I can't say I prefer just one so I recommend you to go to that street and try everything!!

Is the nightlife good in Ioannina? Where is good to go?

Well there are two streets, Anaksartisias and pargis square.. There are a lot of small places we call them tsipouradika, where you can sit with your friends drink Greek tsipouro and eat Greek food

What advice would you give future students heading to Ioannina?

Enjoy it, this is my favorite city!! I wish I can come back here soon.. So have fun and try to see everything :)
