What is it like to live in Ioannina? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
If you are a found of small towns Ioannina is one of them. You could walk the city easily. It has a beautiful lake and it is surrounded by mountains. The people are friendly and always willing to help. You would need a car to go around the surroundings but well worth seeing the nature.
What is the student lifestyle like in Ioannina?
Student life is very entertaining, since most students like to have fun and party.
How much does it cost to live in Ioannina?
not too expensive. If you do your erasmus in Ioannina you would stay in the campus which is really cheap. Also they have the student restaurant which is free for students.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Ioannina? Is there any advice you can give?
It is more difficult in the center of town but just out of the center there are many places available and you could find really good prices. Since it is a small city, living out of the center is not a problme.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
Food in Greece is just excellent. You will definitely try to gyros.
What places would you recommend visiting in Ioannina?
City center, lake side. Zagorochoria villages (monodentri, papigko), Metzovo. Vrelli museum. Ioannina is close also to many good places like Dodoni, meteora, Thessaloniki.
Is it good to eat out in Ioannina? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
Tsipouradika is the local taverna in Ioannina. There are all good.
Is the nightlife good in Ioannina? Where is good to go?
There are many bars in the lakeside which are worth visiting.
What advice would you give future students heading to Ioannina?
Don't stay indoors! The nature around Ioannina is wonderful! Also constantly meet people and you won't fail to have fun!
