What is it like to live in Ibiza? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Ibiza is a cool island, part of Spain. The main town is Eivissa and it is very beautiful. It has the typical Mediterranean architecture. The houses are white with blue windows. It is an amazing place to see, somewhat romantic and nice. The rest of the island is also very pleasant. It is not too big but it is not small either. There are many clubs and bars, restaurants, beaches, etc.

What is the student lifestyle like in Ibiza?

Ibiza is about partying. After all, that is what it is famous for. There are many clubs, some of which have world wide fame, such as Pacha. Pacha is something big on the island. There are Pacha gift shops, Pacha bars, Pacha party boat, etc. I had the chance to enter this famous club and it was cool. Unfortunately, it is not on the beach as I expected but it is cool. There is a VIP zone and there is a "normal" zone. Of course, Pacha is not the only option. There are many other bars you can choose from.

How much does it cost to live in Ibiza?

I have not lived in Ibiza, I have only visited, so I could not say. I guess it would not be cheap because it is a touristic destination. Actually, I am not sure if there is a university on Ibiza. I think that the university of the Balearic islands is, I think, on the other island, Palma de Mallorca. So, no Erasmus students either. You can go visit Ibiza and you can spend a lot or not spend much money at all. It depends on how you plan your journey.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Ibiza? Is there any advice you can give?

No idea, I have never lived there.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

There are the typical Spanish dishes, such as tortilla, paella, jamon, etc. You can have some cool pizza or pasta because the island is full of Italians and of Italian restaurants.

What places would you recommend visiting in Ibiza?

Visit the Hippie market. It is full of funny and colorful stuff. There are some cool local liqueurs and hand made jewelry, clothes, and shoes. Go to Pacha, the famous club. Visit the pirate's cave which is user friendly. There is light inside and a guide who will take you around and tell you a bit about the history of the cave. Go to the nearby beach, it is very beautiful. Go to any beach, after all you are on an island.

Is it good to eat out in Ibiza? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

I cannot remember by now. There are many good Italian bars and restaurants, since there are many Italians on Ibiza.

Is the nightlife good in Ibiza? Where is good to go?

It is great! This is one of the famous party places in the world. There are some awesome parties in the clubs. Famous DJ's come to perform on Ibiza, so if you go during the high season, you could party all night long. I went in May when the high season had not started yet and it was OK but not too crowded, nor too crazy.

What advice would you give future students headed to Ibiza?

Have fun and do not drink too much.
