Ibiza

Happy Saturday afternoon everyone!

In this third post of this blog, I want to tell you about the experience I had on my trip to Ibiza, a city I had the fortune and pleasure of visiting only once, exactly on Wednesday 9th August 2017, thanks to a cruise of the Western Mediterranean Sea with the ship Jewel of the Seas.

Ibiza is a wonderful Spanish city, capital of the island of the same name that makes up a part of the Balearic Islands, along the Eastern Spanish coast. I was pleasantly surprised because, although it's famous for its fabulous beaches and celebrated and bustling night life, Ibiza is a city that offers many attractions, amongst which is the small medieval city Dalt Vila, a World Heritage Site.

Ibiza is a rather small city which can be explored on foot, although some of the streets in the historic centre are very steep.

To get to the highest part of the city you'll need to venture along the streets and clamber up the hill. For this I suggest not only equipping yourself with a map of the city and a camera, but you should also wear comfortable shoes which will help you tackle the climb, which will lead you to the building seen in the next photo, which dominates the city and all the little white houses sheltered underneath it:

Once arrived one finds Ibiza's most important religious building, namely the magnificent Cathedral of Our Lady of the Snows (in Spanish Catedral de la Virgen de las Nieves), of which I attach two photos (the first depicts the external facade whereas the second its central nave):

Furthermore, arriving at the end it's possible to enjoy from above a wonderful panoramic view of the city of Ibiza and get lost in the many corners that attract you like that of this photo:

I hope you liked my account of my trip to Ibiza. I'll see you in another post in which I'll tell you about another city of the splendid country of Spain that I was lucky to have visited.

See you soon! (A presto! )
