Today I sent you some of my evaluations of the my staying in Hoi An on the trip a few years ago.
- My fortunate with Coconut Garden Homestay
To be honest, we should not have been in such a cute place, but it was probably due to the fate or my luck. At first I chose another homestay but that homestay abruptly canceled because there was no employee or something like they are having too many guests without adequate number of staffs.
I did not believe with that, there is stupid thing when I have booked homestay or hostel in Vietnam or generally in Asia is that almost 90% of rooms are free cancelation without credit card guaranteed, that might be a good point but instead it means the homestay or some hostels prefer people to go directly to ask for rooms, so sometimes they just let people to use your room because there is an possibility that the booked guests will not go to use his room.
Therefore in this case, I think that that homestay has already let other people to use my room, perhaps they thought that due to storm, at that time, there was a tropical storm in Vietnam, so I would not come.
So I decided to choose Coconut Garden instead.
The criterion of my room selection is cleanness, the price is okay (if there is a promotion on the booking page as well), not necessarily close to the center because there is a motorbike rental, the scenery is as good as possible ... and this place is one Few choose the best price.
- Location of Coconut Garden Homestay
First I will introduce the location.
I appreciated the location of Coconut Garden quite well. It is located about 2km from the ancient town of Hoi An, not too difficult to find because just go straight Nguyen Tri Phuong is the sign to enter homestay right away. The area is very quiet, noisy as the center or the crowded market, suitable for relaxing with the fresh air of the garden behind the house and the small river close by. The small garden behind was requisitioned as a pretty common space.
Moreover, I like a small fish pond, there are a lot of fish that as I asked it is pink fish. These fish are wrapped behind a whole coconut water with their cool blue eyes. In the yard planted many plants and flowers, there are cages breeding two beautiful birds again. In general, it is very charming.
In terms of accommodation, the main concern is the bedroom as well as the restroom. To tell the truth is that everything here is very clean and sweet. Comfortable and spacious double bed. Amenities such as air conditioner, wardrobe, hair dryer, super-kettle, flat-screen TV, mini fridge ... are all available.
Bathrooms are spacious, clean with basic equipment, fresh shiny, full of hot and cold water.
At first I booked the cheapest room Standard Double Room for about 270k / night (10 euros) excluding breakfast, but then I arrived, the receptionist advised me extra room and garden view for 300k /night ( 11 euros).
If book Superior Double Room with this view, the price on booking.vn is approximately 350k / night ( here is another fact that it is always better for homestay or hostel here that guests should not book through booking.com, so it is a reason why my previous hostel preferred other guests to enter my room)
I think it's OK to get this room for my comfort.
If you want to experience biking around the old town, Coconut Garden Homestay also offers free bicycles for rent. If you rent out it will cost 50k / per bike ( around 2 euros)
. However, due to the distance to the old town a bit far so it probably will not fit into some lazy movement. It's easy to play, so it's easy to play around, but remember to go early, do not play late because the night is dark here. The water is also free.
At check out point also get a big bottle of water to bring along along the way , I really like that idea... Counting the bottle of water is not worth anything but important in knowing the customer. Well, it is always accepted because the two sides have no holes whatsoever but also fun.
Basically I quite like this place. The space inside and outside is very comfortable, cute. The owner is Ni, she is superkind anyway. She was always talking, talking to natural guests as much as possible. Will answer any questions and guide us very dedicated.
When I asked good food in Hoi An, she took out the phone to write a message as long as a report sent to me and also to say how this place, how much ... how enthusiastic.
I still remember the first night in Hoi An, the building was out of power due to typhoons, afraid not to go to dinner, she had to go to buy food for us but I was a little afraid of the wind, Again and again want to go out and play a little bit so just call for the taxi only.
It was planned that I was only here for one night but due to the storm, I had to spend another night to spend more time with myself.
Total cost is 600k / room / 2 night / 2 persons. ( 22 euros)
