Why did you choose to go to Herning, Denmark?

I choosed Herning because I felt in love with VIA University College and it became one of my dreams. Also, I always appriciated Scandinavian culture!

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

The scholarship is 3 years and a half, 7 semesters. It is divided in two years for AP Degree and half an year Top Up.
My parents helped me a lot. They send me 600€ each month, which is not really enough if you would like to have a social life too.

What is the student lifestyle like in Herning?

It is quite fine. But is a very small city so we do not really have what to do if there is not a party or something organised by VIA for students.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Herning to other students?

For sure! I am so grateful to be here and I am sure they will feel the same.

What is the food like?

We have all kind of food here starting with Italian to Pakistanise, Chinese, Vietnamese food and many others. And there is always food for vegans!

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Herning?

Yes! It was very difficult to find something but there are facebook groups where VIA is helping sgudents to find accomodation.

How much does it cost to live in Herning?

In comparison with my country it is really expensive. For example 600€ is not enough to pay everything.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

The language is hard to get but of course we can sign up for Danish classes. They are free but there is a deposit of 1200DKK to pay at the beggining.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Herning from your city?

The easiest way to travel to Romania is the plain. But is cheaper with coaches.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Herning?

Einstein, Irish Pub, Baren and some other pub's from the city center.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Herning?

I concider that Flammen, Karma, Poulsen and Cosy caffe have really good food . I don't really know about the others, I use to eat at home.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Herning Museum of Contemporary Art.
