Why did you choose to go to Heidelberg, Germany?

Because as well as being one of the most beautiful cities in Germany, it's university is the oldest and most prestigious.

How long is the scholarship for? How much money do you receive as aid?

The scholarships is for 10 months and in theory, I receive 300 euros a month, which isn't enough in Germany at all.

How is student life in Heidelberg?

Student life is incredible. There are many, many students from all over the world.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Heidelberg to other students?

Without a doubt.

How is the country's food?

The food isn't bad but it's limited to practically just pork and potatoes.

Did you find it hard to find accommodation in Heidelberg?

No, as the university provided me with one by chance. However there are people who had problems finding a flat.

How are living costs in Heidelberg?

Between approximately 500 and 600 euros a month.

How is the language? Did you go to any courses at the University?

The language is complicated. There are a wide variety of language courses for students.

What is the most economical way of getting to Heidelberg from your city?

Flying to Frankfurt and getting the bus from there (from a company called Meinfernbus which gets you there for just 5 euros). There are other options like the train or other buses but they are much more expensive.

Which places do you recommend to go out to party in Heidelberg?

It depends on the day. On Mondays, beer at Hauptstrasse's Hard Rock Café are a euro. The Erasmus day in on Tuesdays at Mels, close to the river. Thursday is girls day with free champagne in Mohr in the Untere Strasse and there are many parties on weekends.

And to eat in Heidelberg? Can you name your favourite places?

The mensas are very good in terms of the price and food.

And as a cultural visit?

It's a precious city with many monuments to visit.

Any advice you want to give to future students in Heidelberg?

Come and you won't want to leave.
