What is it like to live in Guayaquil? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
I have lived here all my life so I am very use to everything, I´ts a really warm city that has a lot of touristic places like churches, parks and monuments. there are lots of really good places to eat. busy city but if you know where you are going you´ll be okay.
What is the student lifestyle like in Guayaquil?
well it´s difficult, firstly for transportation you need to have a car. Public transportation is a disaster. Universities cost wise (private ones) cost between 8000-1200 a year depending on the career. on the other hand there is public universities which are overload of people, and it´s really hard to get in.
How much does it cost to live in Guayaquil?
depend on the zone you want to live. the most expensive is, Samborondon. Witch is not technically guayaquil because it is in the canton Daule. But there are the most expensive places. but if you live in a normal zone like Urdesa or Ceibos prices are more reasonable.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Guayaquil? Is there any advice you can give?
well I don't know I have never looked for places here I have always lived her.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
The best food. You can go to the south and find lots of little places where you can find typical food. Or you can find more expensive and gourmet food in Plaza lagos town center, or in Urdesa for affordable and also delicious food. Depends of what you want but here we have it all
What places would you recommend visiting in Guayaquil?
las Peñas, el malecón 2000, El Cristo, The Point, The cathedral,
Is it good to eat out in Guayaquil? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
yes I´ts the best. Well for pizza and wings there is place called Wicked Pizza, for sushi Isao for seafood La Pata Gorda or the tennis club, for mexican food Charros y Churros, for encebollado el Pez Azul also there is sea food for fusion, tapas and drink Plaza Lagos town center has lots of places. For healthy food, Free Life, Gourmet Market, Zambai Shack. for desert, Sweet and Coffee or Masamadre, or dolce incontro.
Is the nightlife good in Guayaquil? Where is good to go?
well you can go to the rooftops bars that are very popular, the point, Sociedad Anonima, and Vento. also there are raves from time to time the lost beach club organizes.
What advice would you give future students heading to Guayaquil?
get a car, know where you are going, make lots of friends, be save partying, don't trust anyone except the people you know well. Eat in different places and enjoy the weather.
