What is it like to live in Graz? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Graz is an academic and university city. Therefore, you are guaranteed a high number of students, some of them are international. It also affects the overall feel during the day - many young people on bicycles riding through and around the town.
However, after the afternoon, the place turns into a something of a desert. Namely, the streets tend to become rather empty, and with almost all the stores closing quite early, it is not very exciting. The town itself is really pretty, the surroundings and the nature is amazing, and it is a leading eco-friendly environment. My friend told me: yes, Graz is excellent for getting your PhD, and then you should definitely leave it asap :)

What is the student lifestyle like in Graz?

Very rich, but on a small scale.

How much does it cost to live in Graz?

The life is pretty much affordable, anything from 500 to 700 euros should get you through the months easily.

Is the nightlife good in Graz? Where is good to go?

The nightlife in Graz I do not appreciate that much. What is offered lacks diversity.

What advice would you give future students heading to Graz?

Enjoy the nature and great University facilities as much as possible. Also, join and do sports via the University service, it's almost free of charge.
