What is it like to live in Graz? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

In my opinion, this city is perfect for erasmus students. You can find a lot of things to do. You can go wherever you want by bike. Everything is almost near. It is also a familiar and a safe city. The part of the city centre has a lot of life during the day and also at night. You can find nightlife easily in Graz and that is really cool.

What is the student lifestyle like in Graz?

I have a lot of lessons to do at the university, but all of them are taught by great teachers. I think that here you can take advance of the great education. Also, the environment of the university is very friendly and familiar. In your free time, you can also spend time with your friends and go for a drink.

How much does it cost to live in Graz?

Graz is not as much expensive as another city. It is available for students, you don't have to do a bit effort to pay for everything.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Graz? Is there any advice you can give?

I found my flat thanks to OeAD. They helped me to find my flat because it was a little bit late when I started with the research and every dormitory was full. An advice could be that if you want to live in a dormitory you have to look for it some months in advance.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Food is really good. You can find whatever you want where you want. Maybe what I miss is fish but you can eat it also. My favorite dish is Wiener Schintzel with potatoes!

What places would you recommend visiting in Graz?

Schlossberg is an amazing place to go and visit, either at night or day.

I like also like to walk around the city centre and the little streets there are in the surroundings.

It is also nice to walk around Stadtpark and have some picnic there. Of course, it is great to go by bike near the river.

Is it good to eat out in Graz? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

I found one really cheap and cool pizzeria, it is called l'Osteria. It is my favourite!

Is the nightlife good in Graz? Where is good to go?

The nightlife is pretty good! The main street is Elisabethstrasse, there you can find a lot of pubs, clubs and discotheques. There are ones, where you are not allowed to enter if you are under 21, but you have more choices to go out party anyway.

What advice would you give future students heading to Graz?

You have to enjoy every moment of your stay in Graz. This city has a lot of places to be discovered and also a lot of cool environment to enjoy. The best way to do it is going out, doing tourism and meet people from the city!
