What is it like to live in Graz? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

The city is really beautiful and is an University city, so there are always things to do.

What is the student lifestyle like in Graz?

I was during covid, so my experience in this part is not reliable.

How much does it cost to live in Graz?

The accomodation is quite cheap, at least in the dorms, where you can find a lot of people from all over the world.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Graz? Is there any advice you can give?

The easiest is to look in OEAD or Home4students. They have a lot of dorms in different places in the city, some os erasmus, others with more Austrian people...

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The traditional dishes would be Wiener Schnitzel, soups, and of course all the pies they do (that for me are the best)

What places would you recommend visiting in Graz?

Hauptplatz (main square, with the Rathaus and views of the Uhr Turm),
You must go up the Schlossberg through the stairs! to have a view of the city and of course have a walk through the park and see the Uhr Turm, the Japanese Kiosk...
Have a walk through the city centre, Herrengasse, the Opera, the Dom, the Alte Teschnik Universität, Karls Frances University, Karls Joseph platz...
And for me one of my favourite places is a little square next to Herrengasse with a restaurant called Die Herzl.

Is it good to eat out in Graz? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Die Herzl is a restaurant with traditional food, in a cozy square and cheap.
Gösser is one of the most popular restaurants of traditional food but it is quite expensive.

Is the nightlife good in Graz? Where is good to go?

We used to go to Mi casa, a latin pub. But I was in corona times so I don't know much about it.

What advice would you give future students heading to Graz?

Try to meet as much people as you can from all over the world, and never say no to any plan. I am sure you will have an amazing year :)
