Why did you choose to go to Graz, Austria?

I had a friend who came to Graz last year and she loved it!

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

My scholarship is for 4 months and i received 1100 euro

What is the student lifestyle like in Graz?

Graz is primarily a university city so the student lifestyle is brilliant! I would recommend to join the ESN group here to get deals and for Erasmus nights out

Would you recommend the city and the University of Graz to other students?

Definitly!!

What is the food like?

Very good, and compared to my home country, quite reasonable!

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Graz?

No, but i would recommend to find accommodation as soon as possible because if you leave it too late it is very hard to find a place to stay

How much does it cost to live in Graz?

Food is generally cheap, like most things, But saying that, I am from Ireland which can be a little expensive!

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

German is a little hard to understand but my University does offer German courses. If you find it hard to learn a new language, you don't need to worry too much as most people do know a decent amount of English.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Graz from your city?

The easiest way to Travel from Ireland would be to take a flight to Vienna (approx 3 hours) and to take a train to Graz (approx 2 and 1/2 hours)

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Graz?

Personally i prefer pubs/bars. The office pub is good and also every 2nd Wednesday there is an Erasmus night. Other good places are O'Carolans, Flann O'Briens and Molly Malone.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Graz?

To be honest, i just cook my own meals most nights to save money

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Graz is an city of culture in Austria, so there are plenty of attractions and sites to visit!

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Graz in the future?

Graz is a great place to stay ind i recommend anyone to at least consider it!
