Why did you choose to go to Graz, Austria?

Because I wanted to learn german, it was the underdog on our list of possible universities and didn't know a lot about Austria.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I was there for 5 months and I received 800 euro's a month from my home country and 210,- a month from Erasmus.

What is the student lifestyle like in Graz?

The student population is extremely mixed due to the fact that there are 4 universities. Therfore the lifestyle is too.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Graz to other students?

Absolutely! Such a nice, big but not too big, loving city.

What is the food like?

Mixed. if you'd liek you can aet whatever you want each day. But the austrian food is a pre as well!

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Graz?

No, I found it uite easily through a site that normal students use as well. After an afternoon on the site and some emails I found a room that same day.

How much does it cost to live in Graz?

300,- rent
500,- living
200,- unexpected costst

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Yes at the beginnign of the semester there is a good 3 week introduction course. For me, as a dutch speaking person, it was easier than others to learn the language, but I think you can amange quite fine.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Graz from your city?

By plane, transavia

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Graz?

Univiertel, The Spot, Stadtpark.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Graz?

Of course, but as a student teh one you ahve to know are the Bausatz ones: Grammophon, Bier Baron, etc.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Vienna, Schlossberg, Mariatrost, (Venice), and many many more.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Graz in the future?

Find a room near teh city centre!
