Why did you choose to go to Graz, Austria?
I chose the University. I wanted to study in a such great University, like Karl-Franzens University. After I came here, I found Graz a very beautiful city, with nice people. At first you will think that it is a small city, but everyday you can explore different areas. Graz has a mix of old and new.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
My scholarship last 3 months, and if you are a good saver of money... 2000 is enough.
What is the student lifestyle like in Graz?
It is wonderful, full of activities. Everyday there are different events and student activities, especially for international students.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Graz to other students?
Yes, I highly recommend.
What is the food like?
The traditional food is very delicious. They use so much spices and sauces, but everything is delicious.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
If you do not speak German, it's not a problem. There are a lot of courses taught in English, also language courses available from September.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel in the city?
By foot... Ok I think it is better to buy a bicycle. Everyone uses bicycles in Graz.
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Graz?
Schlossberg restaurant, Taj Mahal.
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
Kunsthaus, Eggenberger castle, Altstad, Universalmuseum Joanneum, Basilika Mariatrost, Herz Jesu Kirche, Mausoleum of Emperor Ferdinand II, Graz Opera, Mariahilfkirche.
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Graz in the future?
Bring warm clothes with you.
