Why did you choose to go to Graz, Austria?

I wanted to learn German. I love Austria, we go there every year in winter to enjoy skiing.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I stayed for 5 months. I got €500 per month.

What is the student lifestyle like in Graz?

It depends on what you prefer. Every evening there is at least one party.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Graz to other students?

Definitely. It is very beautiful city with a UNESCO historical center, also not too big. Just the perfect size.

What is the food like?

Nothing special. Try schnitzel and pumpkin soup.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Graz?

No, there are plenty of dorms and shared flats. If you want the cheapest one, it will take you some time and energy.

How much does it cost to live in Graz?

I paid €315 for accommodation per month, for food I tried to go as low as possible, so €14 per week. I spent a huge amount of money on traveling.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

German is quite hard, but you get used to it. There are language courses available. An intensive course before the semester, and also other courses during the semester.

What's the easiest or most economical way to move around Graz?

Definetely by bike or public transport.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Graz in the future?

Just go for it.
