A Panjim Pilgrimage

Seas the Day – Your Guide to a unique Goa experience.

The state gets its vibe from its laid-back capital, Panjim. It is characterised with broad streets, colourful Portuguese houses, riverside setting and humble people. It is a contrast from the typically crowded streets of Baga and Calangute that are dominated by Russians and others from all over the world. Panjim is one with a reserved mentality. The Church of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception is one of the main attractions of this area. You can also visit the districts of Sao Tome and Fontainhas, laden with colourful Portuguese architecture.

Search for a shipwreck

There are numerous shipwrecks around Goa, some as ancient as the 450 year old Portuguese era. Hire a scuba-diving outfit and explore the shipwrecks of the coast of Mormugao harbour. You can also venture to Grande Island or Bat Island. The neighbouring area is a saltwater lagoon where you can find multi-coloured fish swimming around extensive coral.

Dance of the Dolphins

Dolphins are like the puppies of the ocean. They are playful creatures that are always a delight to spot. If you thought, Goa did not have dolphins you are sadly mistaken. You can embark several boat rides on to go dolphin spotting.

Shop till you Drop

Goa has one of the cheapest and most vibrant shopping markets in India. You can visit the weekend markets in Anjuna or stroll around the more happening spots in Goa to find cheap bargains. Known for its “hippie” culture, you can find dresses, shirts and other accessories printed in vivacious colours. Learn a trick or two in bargaining as this can come in handy.
