What is it like to live in Girona? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Girona is a small town, so it's easy to learn and know where everything is. I would definetly recommend living here. Personally, I think it's the perfecte equilibrium between a big city and a small country-town. It has a lot of activities to do such as theatre, cinema, night clubs, librarys, scouts, and different sports like football, volleyball or basketball.

What is the student lifestyle like in Girona?

As a student I can say that I don't get bored in the city. In the morning you can go have breakfast anywhere, coffe shops make a lot of deals until midday. In the afternoon, ou can go to the cinema, or just have some coffe in any terrace you want, there's a lot of life in the center. An finally at night you can go to a lot of bars or go clubbing, whatever you prefer.

How much does it cost to live in Girona?

It depends a lot of the town area you are searching. Near the university it's cheaper than in the center. The food is not expensive but it's not cheap neither. The prices are different depending on the supermarket.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Girona? Is there any advice you can give?

Depending on when you are searching. IF you search for a flat in june (at the end of the academic year) may be easier to find someone who is changing the flat or people who are searching for students to rent it. I think it's important to fins someone who already lives here so as to ask him or her for information.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

I consider myself a foodie. I enjoy eating well made food. I do not have one favourite dish, depending on the moment i would say maybe a good chocolate cake or a lasagna with vegetables.

What places would you recommend visiting in Girona?

I would recomend visiting both Cathedrals, having a good walk in the river side and maybe do some shopping in the center.

Is it good to eat out in Girona? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

There are a lot of restaurants in Girona. Each one make different food, and I think this is really great because you can find a good place to eat whatever your tastes are. I like two french resaturants that they make really good Crepes.

Is the nightlife good in Girona? Where is good to go?

There are a few night clubs to go to. Depending on your music taste.

What advice would you give future students heading to Girona?

I would tell them to take an afternoon and get lost in town, this way they will discover a lot of good spots.

Hi, thank you so much for your good information, i have one question.
please tell me how can i rent a one cheap room near the Onyar river in Girona?

  • flag-es Nora Fonseca 7 years ago

I would say that you contact an immiobiliary so as to ask if they're available. It's easier because, at least you'll have an insurance in case of anything happens. That's only if you don't know anyone there, of course. Just google it, and you'll find the contact so as to ask them for information. Hope this answer is useful to you. Have a nice trip!
