Erasmus Experience in Girona, Spain by Martina
Why did you choose to go to Girona, Spain?
Spain was always my first option to go on Erasmus. Ending up in Girona was just a lucky.
What is the student lifestyle like in Girona?
Girona is great for students because you get everything in one place. Great parties, amazing esn team, many other students. You can find an easy balance between school and social life.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Girona to other students?
For sure. Girona's esn team is always creating events.
What is the food like?
Mostly spanish.
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Girona?
The easiest way to find an accomodation is to ask other students who were there. Get a reccommodation from them.
How much does it cost to live in Girona?
Depending if you want to travel a lot or not. With the grant from EU and some savings it's okay.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
If you want to learn the language, you definitely will. School and the locals will help you.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Girona from your city?
I live in Slovakia and the cheapest way was to fly from Vienna (which is very close) to Barcelona and take a train to Girona. If you find a direct flight to Girona it's even easier.
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Girona?
Definitely Willy's, Platea, Lux, shots at Yeah!, and all time favourite, if you just want to sit and have a nice evening Konig.
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Girona in the future?
Try to find accomodation with someone you know at least little bit. Don't take the first deal on any flat.
