Cycling experience in Gerona
If you are wondering about which transportation should you use when you move to Gerona, cycling is a good choice for you as walking does.
Why is cycling?
- Gerona is a small city where everything is connected and close with each other. Therefore, public transport is not often running and it takes even more time compared to walking and cycling.
- Gerona is a clean/green city: the air is so fresh, trees are every where, and there is a very nice river flowing along a beautiful range of colourful buildings which is a typical icon for the city.
- It is worthy doing it to get a great experience that you never think about.
I am thankful to share my cycling journey in Gerona:
- My first impression was about stealing bicycles' seats stories in Gerona. The billionaire question was that what people do with 1000 seats of bicycles. The majority of my friends lost their bikes' seats in different locations.
One night we went out with an Italian friend who just lost his bike's seat. He got crazy and went crazy to look for a similar seat from all the bikes on the road. His hungry and angry eyes told us he would steal a seat that is matched with his bicycle. We tried to calm him down but he seemed not to listen to. Luckily, he couldn’t find any similar seat before he could calm down.
- I bought my first and the only bicycle from another Erasmus student with a really good price: 50euro.
- I used the bicycle every day, going to school, going to downtown and going for visiting my friend who lived 10km far from me. I used it to go to the super market to carry 5liter of water bottle every day.
- I got an awesome memory with my favourite teacher by cycling:
One day I was cycling and trying to climb a hill. Suddenly, I heard someone screamed, it was my teacher “Do you want to kill me? If you want to, just tell me.” He joked.
10 minutes before, he just gave a lesson in my class and now on the road I was about to kill him. My bike strongly hit his legs. When he went to class the next day, he didn’t stop to joke me by telling everywhere to watch out on my cycling skill.
He is my favourite teacher. He taught me a lot not only knowledge in school but in life. He didnt teach me how to ride a bike but 'how to ride a bike well' and more than that 'how to direct my life well'.
You can read about him in the next stories………………
