Why did you choose to go to Getafe, Spain?

I choose Carlos III de Madrid because it is the only university which doesn't require Spanish language level.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

Erasmus scholarship obviously is not enough to stay in Getafe. I need extra 200-300 euro to go outside with my friends and travell a little bit.

What is the student lifestyle like in Getafe?

The lessons are intensive. I spend a lot of time for the homework reading and assignments. However, still you can find a free time to hang out.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Getafe to other students?

The city is nice, but for some activities people usually go to Madrid center. If you assume Erasmus as an oportunity to have a lot of parties and trips you better stay in Madrid. The connection between Getafe and Madrid is very good! You can come either by train, metro or bus. Plus to this they have special card for students under 26. With this card you will be able to use all of the transportation for 20 euro per month. University is great. Campus is nice, teachers are profeccional and helpful.

What is the food like?

Food is cheap and tasty. In some places they give a generous portions of tapas. Drinks are very cheap.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Getafe?

I found it by my self. Accomodation is the most expensive thing in Getafe.

How much does it cost to live in Getafe?

You need at least 500 euro per month in general (rent, food, other staff)

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

They have a Spanish language courses at University but it is not for free and not very good as i heard.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Getafe from your city?

As i wrote before you can buy a travelling card for 20 euro and use all the public trasport in the city for free.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Getafe?

There are some night clubs but i didn't go there.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Getafe?

Telepizza. Cercedias close to the campus.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

CitylifeMadrid on facebook

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Getafe in the future?

Try to look for the flat 1-2 months before you arrive and you will be able to find cheap accomodation.
