The introduction

Hello everyone, I hope, that you are all doing just fine!

In this article I want to tell you about this amazing place in Georgia, which is called Shatili and while you are there, you should definitely visit it, because it’s a historical place, which looks really beautiful and getting there is a very good idea, if you like hiking and love nature and going to some places with historical meanings and stuff like that.

Shatili was a place, where people lived and they secured the territories of Georgia from the tribes from north and it’s a fortress, which has been left in really good condition comparing to other ones, which have almost all been destroyed through the centuries.

if you love hiking, then you can just get your backpack on your back and head towards shatili village from Tbilisi. Of course, the rad will be long and tiring, however, that’s what most hikers like and, besides, it will be full of interesting sights ad places and you won’t get enough of Georgia. You can just turn the google maps on or just ask the people around how to get to the northern part of Georgia in Shatili village and they will tell you the road while constantly inviting you to their homes to drink some wine with them.

There aree also tours to Shatili village with microbuses or cars. You can find some events on Facebook pages or you can just go to the Didube metro station, where there’s a place, which they call it “Okriba” and there are many microbuses going to all the places around Georgia and you can ask which one goes to Shatili. It usually costs about 15-20 Laris round-way to Shatili village.

Well, you can see the old village built with flat stones and rocks, which is amazing and they are not sealed with anything, it’s just some mud between them. The architecture of this village is unique and everyone is amazed by it. There are even some rooms rented as a hotel thing and you can spend a night there if you want to. The nature there is beautiful and the air is fresh . Tthe villagers are really nice and you can have some of the traditional Khinkali there, too, and trust me, you should definitely try their Khinkali, because some people especially go there to Shatili village to just eat this Khinkali.
