Our trip to Kazbegi _ the beginning
The introduction
Kazbegi is a place in Georgia, where there are those tall mountains and people just like going there. Everyone just wants to go there. It's like a place, where people get their wishes fulfilled or something like that. I really wished to go there, however I could not do that until just recently. There were all those reasons of why I didn't go to Kazbegi other times. Well, there were some bad weather and the roads were not safe for travelling, some times there were some troubles with the border and it was not safe to travel then, either, etc.
Anyways, it didn’t happen for me to finally get to Kazbegi. And I was really sad about it.
You know, there are many tours guided or without a guide and they go to Kazbegi only for 15 laris or so and it's really good to go with them, because you are not going there by your car and you are not a driver and you can just sit back and relax and enjoy your trip. To be honest, I was going to go on a trip like that, however, I couldn't get anyone agree to come with me and I didn't want to go all alone. Of course, there would be some other people there on the bus, but still, they would be all strangers.
Trip to Kazbegi
Then, one day, my uncle suggested that we go to Kazbegi and it was a nice summer day and we all agreed to go. To tell you the truth, we were planning on going to kazbegi together for a long time, however, there was not some time to do that.
So, it was a sunny summer day, when we went to Kazbegi. You know, it's really necessary to have some important things packed for your trip, and since we were going there by our car, we could take as many things as we wanted. First of all, we had to take lots of water, because it was summer and it was hot and we needed too much water during our trip and we had water in bottles and frozen ones, too, and we had some other soft drinks and juices bought, too. We also prepared some hamburgers and chocolate chip cookies and we had them packed in our plastic containers and we had also packed some fruits, like apples and plums and also some cucumbers, too. That was because people get hungry during trips and, besides going into the nature makes people feel hungry.
Anyways, until we got to kazbegi, there were some places, where we would stop to sightsee. Kazbegi is a very high place from the sea level and there's a long way until that. We were going there from Tbilisi and it needed an hour and a half or two hours to get to Kazbegi. There's this Trinity church on top of the mountain there, where people usually want to get to. They mainly go to Kazbegi to see the church, which is called Gergeti Sameba in Georgian and it can be translated as Gergeti Trinity church in English. It is a beautiful church with a beautiful view of other places down there in Kazbegi.
Tours to Kazbegi
Well, as I have already mentioned, there are many tours almost every weekend planned to Kazbegi and they do by those microbuses mostly and there are all those different people gathered together, who just want to visit Kazbegi and have a good time with some other people, who they don’t know yet, however, they will get to know them during the day trip. Of course, there are other than day tours, sometimes they do the two-days tours to Kazbegi, however, it’s not that great to be there for two days with all those strangers, I guess, and, besides, then you will need a place to stay at night and that means more money paid and then you might be nervous, whether that place will be alright or not and things like that. Well, to be honest, I prefer just day trips to anywhere and it’s like going early in the morning and returning late at night. That’s what is better for me, so that I always try to have some tours planned with a day trips and not more than one day. And, besides, if you want to see Gergeti Church in Kazbegi, it’s really enough to go there for a day.
So, there are some tours, which you can easily find online on Facebook. There are events on Facebook about those tours and they announce them every week or so, so that sometimes they just pop-up even if you don’t search them. That way, it’s pretty easy to book a tour, because you can either message them online or you can call them, because there’s this whole information about the tour and the people guiding the tour in the event description and it’s really easy to communicate with those people.
The microbuses have some different places, where they take off.For example, one of the tour companies take off from Varketili metro station and some take off from Didube metro station and some gather at the bicycle statue near the Rustaveli metro station, etc. So that the choice is yours, technically, which one you prefer.
