Geneva, a charming city
Hi everyone! I want to talk about our visit to the city of Geneva in this post. We had a very pleasant day there. Since we were on an exchange in Chambery, a small town in the south of France, we decided to escape to Switzerland, and specifically to Geneva.
What did we do in Geneva?
We had a very nice day in this European city, it was spring, too, so the weather was ideal to wander through its streets and to visit the city's attractions, like the famous Geneva L'horloge fleurie (flower clock), it's a giant clock face made of all different coloured flowers, it's beautiful, unfortunately I don't have any photos. It also has its time set by satellite. Geneva is the city for clocks, there are clock shops everywhere, and they're very high quality. No one is ever late there!
Also, passing through the city, you'll come across its lake, it has a jet of water that shoots super high up in it, we didn't actually find it, it's the first thing you'll see when you get to the city.
Another one of our tourist stops was Saint Peter's Cathedral, it's a very big cathedral which is just as impressive on the inside as it is on the outside:
This is the rear part of the church.
And while we were going by the historic centre, we found this chess set and these giant ladies in the middle of the city, and anyone can play with them if they want to, it was something I hadn't seen before:
And in that same park you'll find another very emblematic monument of the city, a monument to the Protestant reform, you can see the four representative figures of this movement:
And of course, we didn't forget to try the famous Swiss chocolate and we took some as a souvenir, it's delicious!
Photos of the streets of Geneva. It was nice to wander through the clean, well kept streets, it's a very well organised city.
Where we were for the majority of our time there was in this park with grass next to the city's lake, you could see the big jet of water from it. It was very nice there and, after a stroll through the city, we decided to finish the route by spending a while here:
Well guys, that was my experience in Switzerland, I'm sure that I'll go back again to see more of it. I really liked, its landscapes, their life philosophy... I'd encourage you to go, and if you have any worries, don't hesitate to ask me, I'd love to help you out!
