What is it like to live in Firenze? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

The city is a typical University city, as Barcelona, Uppsala, Boston or Zurich... but with a Renaissance taste. Imagine to live in a... museum! Unfortunately this is not always positive, maybe if you are waiting for the bus...

What is the student lifestyle like in Firenze?

Amazing! Even too funny. Bars, pubs everything is fine, also with fair prices.

How much does it cost to live in Firenze?

Not so much as you think, it depends if you are alone or together with some Florentine. I was in a school, Scuola Toscana - an Italian language school that was very helpful. We had a student card and we had many discounts.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Firenze? Is there any advice you can give?

I think yes. But, also in this case, I enrolled in my school asking for an accommodation in a student apartment and they reserved for me a very nice single room in a student residence.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Great! Dieta Mediterranean is wonderful! Lasagne and cappuccino!

What places would you recommend visiting in Firenze?

Oibò (is a coffee bar), Loggia de' Lanzi, "Amici della Musica", Pergola theatre, Scuola Toscana in via dei Benci, Uffizi Gallery, and Santo Spirito quarter.

Is it good to eat out in Firenze? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yes, I liked:

Is the nightlife good in Firenze? Where is good to go?

Not good... terrific! It is better if I do not tell everything you can do, believe me!

What advices would you give to future students heading to Firenze?

First of all enroll to a school, like me. I can recommend Scuola Toscana, but it is not necessary if you know a Florentine or someone. Then, just enjoy the city.
