Erasmus Experience in Florence, Italy by Kaouther
Why did you choose to go to Florence, Italy?
Florence is by far one of the best cities I visited in Europe. It is just a magical city!
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
My course was for three months and I have not received any grant. my approximative monthly budget was around 900 to 1000 euro. The accommodation was very expensive 600 for a room but a double bed and very central
What is the student lifestyle like in Florence?

Would you recommend the city and the University of Florence to other students?
Sure! Great experience

Yes very expensive especially for short periods and for a central location.

300 euro without accommodation
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
Easy to understand if you have a basic notion of Italian
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
Everything, it is a museum city.
I would recommend all the piazza of the center, piazza Michel Angelo, Uffizi, Ponte vecchio, Villa Bardini, Palazzo Pitti...
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Florence in the future?
You have to be confident that you are so lucky to leave in this city even for a short period. Most important to find the right accommodation and closest to your university to avoid transportation, the center is ideal. Make sure to find accommodation the earliest as it is the most difficult part!
