Why did you choose to go to Firenze, Italy?

I always wanted to experience a life in Italy and luckily I got an opportunity to do an internship in Florence.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I had a 3 month Erasmus scholarship and I received 600 euro per month.

What is the student lifestyle like in Firenze?

I did not go to study but I noticed many students experienced difficulties in communication since not many locals speak English. However in general it is a great city to enjoy the Italian lifestyle.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Firenze to other students?

Definitely, I would. It isn't a big city so it is easy to mobilize and you will never get bored of it since it is such a stunning city.

What is the food like?

Food is amazing everywhere in Italy.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Firenze?

Yes, I paid an agency to provide me an apartment and it was totally worth it.

How much does it cost to live in Firenze?

  • Apartment=360 euro per month.
  • Food= depends but around 200 euro a month.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

There are free language courses but sometimes they require a certain level so it is better to study in advance.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Firenze from your city?

By plane to Bologna, then train to Florence.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Firenze?

FLO, Manduca and Blanco are amazing night clubs in the summer.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Everything.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Firenze in the future?

There are no night buses and transportation is expensive, so you should live near the center or even buy a bike, it will save you a lot!
