How did I know about David?

The famous statue of David, I knew for a long time, as a boy, rummaging through all the books in my grandfather's book shelf. Some old books tell the story of the genius in all the fields, and the sculptor Michelangelo genius and his masterpieces are always the most prominent.

His famous work, the statue of David, is one of the most iconic works of the Renaissance, it has always been making art lovers like me curious and admirable. I didn't think that one day I would have my own eyes standing by and admiring this work, in this romantic Firenze.

The David statue in Florence has many versions, but the original one is in the Galleria dell'Accademia and you have to buy admission tickets. In addition, you can admire other versions such as Signoria Square near Ponte Vecchio, but do not bring the emotions and subtle lines of the statue as the real version but also worth to see. However, they are suitable for those who do not want to visit the museum or have less time to visit it. There is also a statue of Hercules standing next to David.

Admire the statue of David

Although the Galleria dell'Accademia has many other sculptures and paintings, the main purpose of the visitors is mainly David statue.

Michelangelo made this famous work for two years when he was 26 years old, from a large marble. David, the little guy against Goliath, standing in a state of "not wearing anything", hands on small stones and squeezed a shoulder you did.

It is true that you have to go into the museum, witnessing the eyes of David to really feel the realness, the truth of the statue.

Although I am a person who does not have knowledge about art sculpture, but seeing the David in a pose "naked", staring eyes, facial expressions, and each of veins in the limbs as well as the blood vessels are exquisitely crafted, I can still feel some of David's charisma.

Looking at the statue for a moment, I wandered through other parts of the museum, not as well-known as David, but other works have their own stories, which you may need to learn a little to gain knowledge. How long have I spent there?

Time to visit museum 1 hour, 1 hour to queue, so if anyone intends to visit the Accademia is enough for a session, or if booking online does not take so long. Although the fare seems pretty high (15 €, just like the ticket to the Colosseum in Rome), but it's really worth it.
