Why did you choose to go to Ferrara, Italy?

Because it is cheaper than most cities, smaller, and is great to travel to other parts of Italy.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

6 months - I received 3500 euros in full and final settlement.

What is the student lifestyle like in Ferrara?

It’s the perfect balance between partying, getting together (the place is small, so everyone is very close to each other) - it is affordable too.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Ferrara to other students?

I would.

What is the food like?

Food is great depending where you go. There is a famous kind of 'ravioli' with pumpkin here. Ferrara is known for it.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Ferrara?

No.

How much does it cost to live in Ferrara?

You could live on 400 euros a month if you're careful.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Yes.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Ferrara from your city?

By bike! Everyone uses a bike here. You could easily find one for 50 euros (and that’s even on the expensive side).

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Ferrara?

(Wednesdays), College (Fridays) or Aperitivo (everyday of the week).

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Ferrara?

Ciclone, Estebar or Nonno Umberto.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

The castle, Duomo (the Cathedral) or Centro Storico (historical centre).

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Ferrara in the future?

Plan your traveling well! Ferrara is beautiful, but mainly you can use it as a connection to other cities.
