The journey to Farsund

The fist official destination in Norway. After traveling through Germany, Denmark and taking the boat to Kristiansand in Norway, we finally arrived at Farsund after 1.5 day of traveling. It felt weird being back in Denmark again, seeing the relatively small hills, smelling the ocean, hearing Danish. The boat to Norway was huge. A lot of people traveled with the boat that day. Seeing the endless ocean as a view was new, no islands, just ocean. And then, arriving in Kristiansand and driving to Farsund, WAUW! I was amazed, what a beautiful country, why did I not go here before. Then taking a break next to the road, view over a lake and fjords, still breathtaking.

Farsund Resort

We arrived at the holiday park around 16 o'clock in the afternoon. What a cute park, Farsund Resort. Way more luxerous than I had expected, but all accomodations of the roadtrip where included in the trip, we did not have the chance to book that ourselves. Kind of an relieve, that that had been arranged for us. Immediately took a little hike in the surroundings, the relaxation, the nature, everything was so nice and quite. I felt at home.

Farsund: day 2

Day 2 we took another hike around the park. This time followed a trail that was appointed from the park on. We looked at this sign and just followed it, without knowing where it would take us. A huge surprise awaited us, the most beautiful view from the top of the mountain. A view over forrest, sea and fjords. Overwhelmed but so excited we sat down and just took in the surroundings. Instantly fell in love with Norway, I was thinking about the view, and excited what our next hikes and journeys would bring us. We hiked further to this beautiful lake, so the dog could take a little swim and we could again enjoy the view. During the afternoon, we wandered a bit around town, exploring surroundings for a supermarket.

Farsund: day 3

Day three had already arrived in Farsund. We again wandered around the park in the morning, exploring the waterfront and the park itself. Then we went for a hike that was quite surprising. We walked and got onto these kind of stone plates, with in the middle a stream of water. The stream ended into a waterfall, which we could look down onto. It was really sunny this day, and I was definetely not prepared for that, so guess who got a sunburn already! But it was more than worth it.

Farsund: day 4

Day 4 we took a hike in the surroundings, a hike around mount Kvina, located at 179 moh, and we explored a nearby beach. It surprised me how quite Norway is, you can go for a hike and almost not see anyone. This peace, this quiteness, it is great. The beach was empty, we could wander around for hours, however, the wind was blowing hard, which made it less enjoyable. It was still great in the end. The last day in Farsund already, curious what the next location will bring us.
