El Tisey

Well as I promise when i made my experience of Esteli-Nicaragua

Now I am going to talk about one of my favorites places in Nicaragua (all are my favorites but this is special)

El Tisey (Esteli, Nicaragua)

Well if you are planning to visit Nicaragua I would recommend to visit el tisey

How can I get there from Nicaragua international airport (only airport in Nicaragua)

First you have to take a cab from the airport to El mayoreo bus station. The cab driver will charge you around 1 dollar per person. If you are traveling alone he will charge you 2 dollars. So I would recommend to take your partner with you

So once you are in El mayoreo bus station you have to look for the right bus which is going to Esteli (el diamante de las segovias) that is its nickname the trip costs around 85 cordobas which are a little less than 3 dollars. 2.85 dollars

The trip from Managua to Esteli takes around 3 hours 20 minutes (it is not too long well maybe a little but it is worthy)

Once you have arrived in Esteli (Diamante de las segovias) the first thing you should do is to look for your accommodation which is cheap for hostel is 30 per day 2 people and 50 per day 2 people in a hotel

But don't stay in Esteli (diamantes de las segovias) my advice is one you have arrived in Esteli cotran sur (in Esteli there are two buses stations which are called cotran sur and cotran norte) you have to walk like for 1 kilometer or take a cab (20 cordobas) to the next bus station (cotran norte) there you can look for the transportation to go to El tisey the most you have to pay for the transportation is 2 dollars

The trip to get to el tisey lasts around 1 hour 20. 

Once you have arrived in El Tisey there you can look for accommodation basically El tisey is a hostel in the middle of the forest (My advise is to booked one room before you got there otherwise if you don't find accommodation there you have to go back to Esteli downtown and the the bus back is passing by 4.00 pm so you will not enjoy your day there)

So basically once you have arrived in El tisey and you have gotten accommodation you can enjoy the forest (*note the weather is cold there so I would recommend to take proper clothes like jacket or coat proper shoes (sneakers) and proper jeans)

So first you should go to know (la loma en el tisey) which is basically a 45 or 50 minutes long trip where you can enjoy the nature you do not need a guide you can go by yourself it is in front of the tisey so you can go alone and the admission fee is around 1 dollar)

By the way the accommodation prices in El tisey are around 9 dollars per person do not pay more that 20 dollars per night per 2 people

So after you have enjoyed the forest in loma el tisey it is time to eat. El Tisey offers you a great variety of foods so you can have a great lunch there for just 4 dollars and enjoy the weather and the forest 

Once you have made all this it is time go enjoy the night in El tisey by watching the stars and then rest for the next days

(Note accommodation is really good in el tisey) so don't be worry about it but take repellent with you (at night could have many mosquitoes)
