What is it like to live in Eskisehir? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

A little metropolitan! Little Istanbul! A cheap and cold one. Little rain and snow but always cool and cold and mostly sunny. No seaside but a river like most of the European cities. 24-hours living city. Inner city transport is very easy. Easy to walk to everywhere. Full of cafeterias, bars and restaurants. Full of gardens, parks, museums and cultural locations. Cinemas are great. 5 shopping centers. Friendly democrat people.

What is the student lifestyle like in Eskisehir?

Student city! Very good campus (Anadolu University Yunus Emre Campus), very good library and online databases. University area is designed for students. Life is very easy for students.

How much does it cost to live in Eskisehir?

For a month: App. 150 euros (accomodation) + 300-500 euros (meals and daily activities include drinks, dining outside and cinemas)

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Eskisehir? Is there any advice you can give?

It is very easy. Various options of accommodation. A huge number of Studio apartments and apart hotels designed for students.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Mostly meat and floury meals. A big range of classical Turkish home meals to even Chinese and Italian food.

Is it good to eat out in Eskisehir? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yes! There are many but I prefer Namli restaurant, Aciktim cafe, Passage cafe, Leman Kultur cafe.

Is the nightlife good in Eskisehir? Where is good to go?

Very very good. A big street full of bars. I love to go to Varuna Gezgin Cafe, Los Amigos, Cafe PI.

What advice would you give future students heading to Eskisehir?
