Experience in Ensenada, Mexico by Bertha

How does Ensenada seem as a place to live? Do you recommend it? What's it like?

Ensenada is a wonderful port, it's a very calm city. The weather in general is very nice and 20C on average. There are many places to visit, there's the Bufadora, the Sierra de San Pedro Martir, and the vineyards. If you like nature and good food, you will like Ensenada. The majority of the people that come to Ensenada fall in love with it and stay to live there. There are people from all over the world. There are CICESE, UABC. CETYS, UNAM. It is a city of researchers where the majority of the population studies and works. The people are friendly. Due to being close to the border of the United States, we have adopted certain customs like Halloween or Christmas, when in reality in Mexico these dates refer to the Day of the Dead and the birth of Jesus, respectively.

I have been in Ensenada all my life. I can say it is not difficult to find. What is difficult is finding somewhere cheap and close to the University. Normally, the closest to the university cost around 5, 000 pesos per month if they are well-located and furnished. From there, you can find from 1500 pesos, unfurnished or with the basics to live. As in all cities, a lot of it depends on your budget. Those most remote from the universities cost around 1200 pesos.

Here, what they sell everywhere are fish tacos, ceviche, seafood cocktails, meat tacos, sandwiches, and burritos.
