What is it like to live in Eindhoven? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

I'm loving it! I like everything about the city. I can't tell how it is because I have lived here for 22 years, I have experienced everything here and I have memories all over the place; it's my home, by comfort place, my everything!

What is the student lifestyle like in Eindhoven?

It's amazing! There is more than enough to do for students, bars to go (like Pico Bello), clubs for almost any music lover, good transport connections and a couple of good schools including TU/e.

How much does it cost to live in Eindhoven?

I can't really answer that without having more information and taking more things into consideration, but the prices follow the average pricing for The Netherlands; an estimate would be a room for about 400-500 euro per month.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Eindhoven? Is there any advice you can give?

Since I never rented any room for accomodation, I don't have any experience that I can share. But my recommendations are being honest with who you are and with what you are looking for, and also follow a list, don't get into the first room you see.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

It is quite good and there are lots of restaurants, like Antonio's Italian Restaurant, where Bruce Springsteen 'The Boss'comes to eat, hell yes!

There are also lots of Burger joints, like De Burger, Mickey D's and Argentinian grilled steak restaurants.

What places would you recommend visiting in Eindhoven?

The Philips Museum, about the history of our Philips company's founder and which also gives information about the football club; the Stadium, of course; Stratumseind, a street packed with bars and small clubs, which is the longest one in The Netherlands; and the City Center, with a couple of architecture buildings.

Is it good to eat out in Eindhoven? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yes indeed! Dommelstraat restaurants are pretty good, and so are a couple of them in the city center, like De Burger and Dijk 9.

Is the nightlife good in Eindhoven? Where is good to go?

Absolutely! The best places to go are Stratumseind and Dommelstraat.

What advice would you give future students heading to Eindhoven?

Simply don't stay too much in your room; go running, play some sports at TU/e sports center; have a drink at Stratumseind; walk around the Philips de Jongh Parc, go karting at Hezemans Go-Kart; go to various festivals around the city in Spring and Summer; watch a match in the Irish Pub and enjoy your stay because time flies and regrets of not doing things you wanted to do could easily happen.
