How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

Scholarships aren't usually offered by the university mostly because, the university is cheaper than many others. Especially for international students.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Eindhoven to other students?

Yes, definitely. Eindhoven is a great city to be student especially because you're always surrounded by students. I like to say, "Eindhoven is a city for students, by students and with students". One of the best features is that almost everyone can speak English, so you don't have to rush into learning Dutch - you can take your time!

What is the food like?

Eindhoven has a variety of food options to choose from. Most notably, you can find Turkish shops around every corner, and Turkish foods like Doner Kebab, are the go to fast food delicacies here. In contrast to many other cities, McDonalds and other fast food chains and little to no presence in Eindhoven.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Eindhoven?

Some agencies will charge a sign up fee in any case. Usually, they are not too expensive, mostly around 30-40 euros, but I don't recommend them because they are almost always useless. I subscribed to around 3-4 of them, which amounts to 120-130 euros, but none of them managed to find me a room. My recommendation is to go with a reputed student housing agencies that are listed on the university's website. However, whatever the case, do not try to find accommodation on your own, you will struggle (unless you're Dutch, in which case, it's relatively easy for you). Trust me, I have gone through this experience.

How much does it cost to live in Eindhoven?

A decent room can cost around 400-450 euros on average. You may be able to find rooms for cheaper but in that case they will be far from the centre and the university. You would want want live within 2km radius of university (which drives up the prices for rooms, so I'd say anything between 400-450 is a decent deal). And apart from the money spent on partying, a student can live on 150-200 euros. If you shop around smartly you may even be able to reduce that cost a little.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

The university definitely offers some Dutch courses throughout the year but they are always overbooked, so it's best to register in advance.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Eindhoven?

Definitely, party life in Eindhoven is big. Since it is a city concentrated with students, you can expect some really good party life. Most importantly, drinks and other specialities of parties are relatively cheap so that's big plus.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Eindhoven?

Hizmet is the go to fast food shop in Eindhoven for students. But I cannot really recommend any "proper" restaurants, because I have not had the time to explore them yet.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Just no.
