its a big city, but not as big a Monterrey or Mexico City. it is the cheapest big city in Mexico . a quite city during the week but weekends are full of activities

What is the student lifestyle like in Durango?

Durango is full of young people, lots of schools around the city but not many foreigners.

How much does it cost to live in Durango?

Durango is one of the cheapest cities in all Mexico, for example you can eat a meal for 50 pesos instead of the 90 pesos you would have to pay for the same meal in a city such as Monterrey

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Durango? Is there any advice you can give?

it depends, there isnt many short stay places because Durango is not a very touristy city

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Durango´s dishes are based on meat, carne asada is a popular dish, gorditas are corn tortilla stuffed with different things such as beans, cheese, peppers, pig, meat.

What places would you recommend visiting in Durango?

i recommend going to the sierra which is about 30 minutes away from the city, also there are some presas (lakes) around the city

Is it good to eat out in Durango? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

its acceptable eating out in Durango, there arent any fancy or very good restaurants. i will recommend eating in las chonas (mexican food) tortas wallander in downtown (mexican style sandwich), and gorditas where ever you can see them

Is the nightlife good in Durango? Where is good to go?

nightlife its ok, there are many places to go like in constitucion street which is a walking street

What advice would you give future students heading to Durango?

Durango is a great city, awesome architecture, great people, very cheap, its a place that isnt spoiled because not many people go to it but its an awesome place to live.
