What is it like to live in Doha? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Doha is a very peaceful place. Despite being a small country and not having a lot of touristic places to go,it is an ideal place to live in or to study. Qatar has one of the lowest crime rates and is one of the only places with minimal to none taxes. The people are very cooperative and its easy to communicate in english everywhere
i would honestly recommend people to consider doha if you are looking for long term and prefer peace and ease over crazy excitement

What is the student lifestyle like in Doha?

Students lead a simple lifestyle in qatar, all amenities are offered and student can travel easily as qatar is a small country
also there are libraries open where students can enjoy peace and quietness

How much does it cost to live in Doha?

doha is not very expensive in general but a little costly as compared to south asia or countries like georgia
but it is very pocket-friendly in general

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Doha? Is there any advice you can give?

it is not difficult to find accomadation here, in general universities offer suitable accomodation with all facitlities so you have to contact the university you are applying to to find out about more details

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Arabic food culture is different from many other types of cuisines. the spices are light but delicious . theyre traditional gahwa(a type of tea) is very popular among arabs. there are many types of arabic foods like harees,majboos, and also these crepe like things you get at Souq Waqif which are filled with honey goodness...yum!!!

What places would you recommend visiting in Doha?

Qatar doesnt have many touristic sites. Katara is one place you should check out as it has a bit of historical architecture and the ambiance is splendid, the corniche is a fantastic place to relax with a view.. other than that The pearl is one of the high-end leisure spots right next to the sea, the beaches are quite good as well, ofcourse desert-safari is a MUST

Is it good to eat out in Doha? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

you get all kinds of cuisines in qatar so there really are no specific spots
if ur looking for chinese-then PF Changs is your go to
most fast food restaurants are offered everywhere
but there are continental and indian cuisine varities offered too

Is the nightlife good in Doha? Where is good to go?

Nightlife in doha is restrcited. being an islamic state, bars and clubs are situated in highend hotels with strict timings and limited alcohol, also there is strict checking so there is no underage drinking

What advice would you give future students heading to Doha?

If you are looking for peace and an easy place to live then this is it, ofcourse no matter what where you go you will face some challenges but the medium of communication being english makes it very easy for evryone
