All about Badajoz!
I'm going to try to writte in english about my city. I know that my english it's not very good, but I'm learning!
Badajoz is my second city, and I would like to talk about it because I spent some great years there.
His situation always had a fundamental strategic importance, in times of war. This same proximity to neighboring enclave makes it no less important, to provide
horizons of limitless possibilities for expansion and projection in all fields, given its privileged situation.
Badajoz is fortified city has been able to endure many wars,
witnesses of which still survive towers, gates, bridges, walls, churches and
Cathedral.
Badajoz is developed from
originally settled on a core of two hills that flank the Guadiana river in the
point that the emergence of geological materials require the river to describe a sharp turn south.
The original population was built on the so-called Cerro de la Muela.
This mound despite its limited scope is seen as an essential stronghold, as
allowed to dominate the plains unfold around them.
My favourite places there are: the University, the old town, the parties, Menacho Street, San Francisco, la Plaza Alta, the Alcazaba, and the Carnival, of course!
