Medical Museion Copenhagen

The introduction

Hello everyone, I hope, that you are all doing just fine.

In this article I want to tell you about this museum in Copenhagen , which I visited during my stay there and it was worth it to visit it, however, it was a little bit expensive visiting it, to tell you the truth. Well, I didn’t know if that kind of museum existed in Copenhagen until one of my friends from the course of internal medicine told me about it. It is called the “Medical Museion” and it’s dedicated to medical stuff, however, it was more of an anatomical and theoretical world of medicine , rather than the technologies or treatment and technical stuff of medicine and hospitals, which I thought that there would be plenty of them there and that was one of the reasons why I went there, if you want to know the truth.

Well, I needed too much time and walking, until I found that Medical Museion. Although I knew the exact address, I still couldn’t find the Medical Museion for a long time and I was just walking by that building, I guess. I even went to this place nearby, where it was kind of a park and there were people sitting on benches and hanging out and I just sat there and fortunately, there was a free wi-fi there and I could connect to the internet and I thought, that I would ask about the location of this Medical Museion to my friend,however, she was not online on Facebook and though I wrote to her in messenger, she still didn’t respond and I was just there, thinking what I could do next. Well, I still decided to find that Medical Museion and I kind of saw its entrance picture in the internet and I went back to that street, where I walked so long to find the museum.

I walked and walked and then I saw this large building, which was really amazing and beautiful and though it more likely resembled a church, I still decided to check it out and went in there. And, so, I was right and it was not a Medical Museion and it was a church, where there was a service at that time and people were gathering there.

Finally, I went a little bit further away and then I could see a sign of Medical Museion on the right side of the street and I was really glad, that I had found the museum, that I just went straight into the building. It had this huge and kind of heavy door and when I entered there was this sculpture of a woman, whose dress was made from different pills and it was pretty beautiful and marvelous and kind of breathtaking.

About Medical Museion

This Medical Museion is a museum and as well as a research unitin Copenhagen and it’s dedicated to the history of health and disease in a cultural perspective.

The museum is located on Bredgade 62 and when you go there, you will see this ancient greek coloumns outside the entrance door, which has a writing of “62” on it. That’s how I finally found it, because I saw it on the internet and I saw the door and that’s how I recognized the building.
