What is it like to live in Clemson? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Small university town in a rural setting. twice as many students as inhabitants in the town. The proximity to bigger towns like anderson (10 miles away), greenville (30 miles away) and atlanta (100 miles away) make it ideally placed. At the foothills of the apalachians, and on lake hartwell, outdoor activities are outstanding. There is a free bus in town from the many apartments to the University and occasionally to the larger close by cities.

What is the student lifestyle like in Clemson?

Party on football weekends, lots of outdoor activities,

How much does it cost to live in Clemson?

i would say $1000 per month is comfortable. Rent is typically $400 to $500 for a nice place shared with others - complex with pool, sports facilities, shared kitchen and living, but independent room and bathroom. You can find cheaper, but not as nice. Food is very reasonable, typically $20 max in most restaurants, with many dishes below $10.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Clemson? Is there any advice you can give?

Plenty of apartments, student housing, and rental houses. Check the web.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Mostly american style burgers, turkey, chicken, but also bbw pork, wings, many "chinese" and thai places. a few "Mexican". Shrimp and grits is a southern specialty.

What places would you recommend visiting in Clemson?

The campus, th ebotanical garden and Calhoun house. But take the car and go up to Lake Kiwi and to the mountains where there is plenty of hikes, parks, and white water rafting.

Is it good to eat out in Clemson? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

plenty of choices.

Is the nightlife good in Clemson? Where is good to go?

lots of bars downtown. Try Nicks, Blue Heron, Esso.

What advice would you give future students heading to Clemson?

Take advantage of the outdoors. Get a car, this is America. Gorgeous campus, southern hospitality, friendly people, most enjoy their experience, and many come back to live here.
