What is it like to live in Chennai? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
The city is a good heritage site but nowadays due to rapid urbanisation the city is polluted and noisy which being the only drawback.
What is the student lifestyle like in Chennai?
The students lifestyle depends on particular person or interests so anywhere one goes depending on attitude of a student his/hers lifestyle is adaptable in Chennai.
How much does it cost to live in Chennai?
It takes Rs 15000 for a decent living in chennai and again it depends on spending. A high quality duet is got at just Rs5000 if a student avoids drink , cigarettes and cinemas.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Chennai? Is there any advice you can give?
My advice is to stay in mens hostel or mansion. You can also look for host families.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
Food is generalized and you can get any food here from western , Indian to Chineese.
What places would you recommend visiting in Chennai?
You can go to the longest beach in Asia (Marina beach) and Mahabalipuram near Chennai known for its caves.
Is it good to eat out in Chennai? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
I dont prefer eating outside nowadays because the food is presented neat but there are lot of adulteration and this is because of north indian people starting their business in south india. So at the max cook on your own.
Is the nightlife good in Chennai? Where is good to go?
No nightlife everything closes but I heard that pubs are open at night.
What advice would you give future students heading to Chennai?
It is very safebut be careful in selecting people to move with.
