What is it like to live in Chennai? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Chennai is beautiful city evolved and transformed in recent years. Majority of the city contains people who moved in from various parts of Tamilnadu and settled down ages back for job. Recent years lots of people from rest of India also has moved in due to IT revolution. City is busy always, very helpful people. They are bound by the feeling of being Chennaite (rather than their state of origin or caste or religion or creed)

What is the student lifestyle like in Chennai?

very easy to go, very good number of public transports and good number of educational institutes with great reputation.

How much does it cost to live in Chennai?

30-40 K (INR) per month for a nonluxurous lifestyle. If you wanna experience luxury of Chennai it would be a 100,000 INR per month

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Chennai? Is there any advice you can give?

Not all accommodation is very much easy to obtain. Lots of online services available. Best deal will be to contact in person see the house and get it. TO avoid touts and cheats

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Food is awesome.. Anything you name you will get it!
I cant name one!

What places would you recommend visiting in Chennai?

Nature's -Marina Beach, Mahabalipuram, Elliot's beach Vedanthangal bird sanctuary near by Chennai.
Monuments- Various temples in the city and around the city
Brilla planetarium, There is huge public library free of cost service Anna library, snake park, crocodile park, a lots of places to visit. IF you wanna see every bit of Chennai you gotta do daily travelling for 1 month

Is it good to eat out in Chennai? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

it depends on what you need. Nowadays you get everything everywhere in Chennai! more metropolitan

Is the nightlife good in Chennai? Where is good to go?

nightlife is not that good. Most of the activities are restricted after 11pm. legal norms by Chennai city police

What advice would you give future students heading to Chennai?

Need not worry! people in Chennai are very helpful and supportive. But beware of touts and social crime people who target foreigners
