The city is full of cultural heritage and very lively atmosphere. People in Chennai lead a very simple life and are extremely cooperative. Some language problem may be faced while interacting at lower levels.

What is the student lifestyle like in Chennai?

Students find very high standards of education and professors. Lifestyle is simple. Lot of places to enjoy your holidays and leisure time. Beautiful beaches.

How much does it cost to live in Chennai?

Very cheap, you can get your lunch for just a dollar.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Chennai? Is there any advice you can give?

No, it is easy to get accommodation here. There are some upmarket areas where staying could be little expensive. But all the places are good and offers variety of choices.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

local food like Idli, Sambhar is the most favorite. You should try the varieties of Dosa also. These are quite healthy and not much spicy as well. Else you have rice and local curries.

What places would you recommend visiting in Chennai?

If you are fond of seeing the beauty of ancient architecture, you must visit the temples which are more than 1000 years old.
If you are fond of beaches, must visit Marina beach amongst many other. Mahabalipuram is another great place for tourists.

Is it good to eat out in Chennai? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Traditional south India joints are the most favorite one which offers local food made in traditional style. Visiting fancy restaurants is not recommended if you want to enjoy the real aroma of local food.

Is the nightlife good in Chennai? Where is good to go?

Nightlife may not be good.

What advice would you give future students heading to Chennai?

This is considered as Medical capital of India, so anyone studying medicine will get the best of the education here. Chennai also has some of the globally best Technical and management institutes.
