It is like a village with a mega-city-traffic. It is a cozy city with a lot of opportunities to live your life as you prefer. It has its decent spots but you have to look for them.
What is the student lifestyle like in Chemnitz?
Like I just said, you have to look for the activities but if you are open minded and willing to stay there, you will love the life there. There are countless of ways to have a good time.
How much does it cost to live in Chemnitz?
Chemnitz has the lowest rent in Germany. You can find really good accomodation for 200-250 €.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Chemnitz? Is there any advice you can give?
No. It is quite easy. I would recommend WG.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
Excellent. There is everything... from a Steakhouse to vegan-stuff. Feel free to experience local food.
What places would you recommend visiting in Chemnitz?
Spinnerei and Naturbad Niederwiesa are the ones that I like the most. If you're more into culture you have museums, art galeries, musicals...
Is it good to eat out in Chemnitz? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
Of course. My favorite spot is Mr. Meyers Diner.
Is the nightlife good in Chemnitz? Where is good to go?
It could be better but you will find good places to party. But I recommend you the Spinnerei or the clubFX.
What advice would you give future students heading to Chemnitz?
You have to let the city-life come to you. Stay relaxed and you will have a great time.
