What is it like to live in Chemnitz? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
Eventhough Chemnitz's architecture is not as pleasant as in other cities, there are some really nice places and there is a broad range of opportunities to spent your free time.
What is the student lifestyle like in Chemnitz?
There are many initiatives and many opportunities to get involved. By the way: there are 4 different parts of the uni, and depending on your classes and courses you might have to switch places from time to time.
How much does it cost to live in Chemnitz?
The overall cost is lower, compared to the rest of germany.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Chemnitz? Is there any advice you can give?
It actually is quite easy and cheap to find an accomodation. The only thing I'd recommend is to be fluent in English or German. Plus there are Dormitories as well.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
The cafeteria offeres a wide range of food, and many restaurants in the city centre.
What places would you recommend visiting in Chemnitz?
The Opera, The so called Schlossteich and if you're into Sports I'd recommend Lasertag and the Boulderlounge.
Is it good to eat out in Chemnitz? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
There are many restaurants and cute cafes. I personally recommend Homies.
Is the nightlife good in Chemnitz? Where is good to go?
The Brauclub (Charts, Black etc), Atomino(Electro, German Angst)
What advice would you give future students heading to Chemnitz?
Try and connect with other students and visit some of the groups for the internationals (F.R.I.E.N.D.S is Thursdays)
